Our Team of Auctioneers

Chad Davis

Chad was born and raised on the family farm in rural Johnson County with his parents, Wendell and Carol and his sister, Wendy.  As a youngster, Chad spent his extra time going to auctions with his father and knew he wanted to be an auctioneer.   He graduated from Crest Ridge High School, and soon after he attended the Missouri Auctioneer School near the stockyards in downtown Kansas City.   His family roots are deep, leading him to follow his upbringing, first working in the family tax business before purchasing and running the local license bureau.  No stranger to hard work, Chad worked, with his mentor Densil Allen, in their auction business, Allen & Davis Auction Services.  After Densil’s retirement, James Bell joined Chad to form Davis & Bell Auction Services.  For the past 35 years, Chad has been doing auctions throughout the surrounding areas near Johnson County.  Densil has now come back to join the Davis & Bell auction team providing excellent services to their clients.

Today, Chad serves as an elected official working hard for the folks in the Johnson County as their Auditor.   He and his partner Christi enjoy spending time on their farm with family and friends when time allows.  But most of all his time outside the Courthouse is spent working with families he holds auctions for and donating time to the many organizations auctioneering for their benefit sales.

James Bell

James was born and raised on a farm in rural Missouri with this family, Gene and Catherine Bell.  James graduated from Crest Ridge High School before taking on a welding career for many years.   As times do, his employer was sold to another business providing an opportunity for James to get back to what he grew up loving to do, ranching and working cattle.   After years of attending auctions, James decided to join the auctioneer side of going to auctions.  He attended the Missouri Auctioneer School in downtown Kansas City near the Kansas City stockyards.  James quickly took to the speed of auctioneering, and worked with Allen & Davis Auction Services.  As Densil retired from auctioneering, James joined with Chad to form Davis & Bell Auction Services.

Today, James continues to run a very productive farm, with his wife, Rita in addition to working with the families he auctioneers for.  Davis & Bell is very community forward and James donates quite a bit of time auctioneering to many organizations during their benefit sales throughout the year.
